The Golden Touch
To alchemize is to change the form of one thing into another. It is a type of magic, to be sure, but, in this case, it is one that can be applied to practical and emotional matters. The type of alchemical response I guide my clients to achieve here is the work of changing perspective, of gaining a new view, of seeing suddenly that the thing that was supposed to crush us is what gives us our power.
What we are alchemizing in this work is not lead into gold, but turning the heaviest part of our histories into a bejeweled crown. We are turning stuckness into fluidity, frustration into release, disappointment into desire.
And, alongside the power of the erotic, we’re doing it with a little spice.
What is Erotic Alchemy?
There is no better partner in this work of transforming our stories of pain into power than the erotic. Our eroticism and sexuality are simultaneously the most magnetic and outcast parts of us. Shunned and forgotten, yet primal and delicious. Our sexual wounds mirror our lives, so it stands that when we heal an aspect of our sexuality, we dress that wound in all parts of our life.
But there’s another reason that the erotic is such a powerful tool for emotional alchemy – because sexual and sensual expression is one of the only areas in which adults engage in play.
You’ll often hear me quote the research of Dr. Karyn Purvis who found that it takes around 400 repetitions to create a new synapse in the human brain. But if we are engaged in play, it takes only 10 to 20 repetitions. That means that playful healing is the fastest form of healing that exists.
Erotic Alchemy takes clients through a range of tools, including creative writing, make believe, fantasy, archetypical exploration, and role play with personas that represent some aspect of you that is aching to have its day. These tools are grounded by more familiar healing techniques, such as breathwork, sacred touch, guided meditations, and living ritual.
Taken together, the tools of Erotic Alchemy awaken parts that they have put to sleep and embolden what is already pumping in your body.
What does Erotic Alchemy look like?
One little secret to knowing the power of the erotic: it is constantly shifting and taking new forms. This is why each session is bespoke, meaning it’s completely tailored for you and your desires. While I have guidelines and frameworks that guide us, I follow the path that is most brightly lit for you.
This means that every session will look different as your needs progress and desires align. It follows you as the expert of your own healing, not some predetermined agenda based on what I think you need to do.
Sessions can be in-person or online. They can offer touch, breath, sound, role play, writing, dance, intimacy exploration, self-pleasure coaching and so much more – where your energy comes most alive is where we will go.
